The core of an alliance is all about collaborating with others to achieve a result one can not achieve alone. It is about synergy; about combining two strengths into something where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, 1+1=3.

The world is in a crisis. It is a health crisis and possibly also an enduring economic crisis. For many organizations the health crisis might already lead to an immediate business crisis. However, it is still a good time to consider teaming up with other organizations in an alliance: alliances can help find solutions for the crisis and alliances can also help you to find new opportunities. 

To do so, you need to step away from the operational crisis level and get a bird’s eye view of your business. In a crisis your client’s needs might have shifted and your abilities might have changed as well. What opportunities are there for you in this new situation? How can you help your clients and with whom can you team up in synergy to jointly create new value for your clients? 

Getting a bird’s eye view by yourself in the midst of a crisis is not easy. That’s where an independent outsider can help. A coach, a sparring partner, will never be as deep into your situation as you are. And they never should be, because in fact, they are already at the bird’s eye view position.
