Camino Experience

Have you thought about walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela?

In April of 2013, when I traveled to St-Jean Pied de Port to commence my Camino to Santiago de Compostela, I thought about what walking 900 kilometers would do to me. How would my body react to walking every day while carrying my belongings on my back? What would it do to my mind, walking kilometers on my own?

I learned that walking a long distance is an excellent way to disconnect from the everyday life. Walking on your own allows you to reflect, to close down unfinished items and to plan for the time after the walk. It also taught me to rely more on faith and less on control; things will work out.

The Camino Experience

Walk with me from 11 to 16 June 2017 during 6 days on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. The 10th of June will be a day to travel to our starting point and the weekend of the 17th is the weekend to travel back home again, now fulfilled with a new experience: the Camino Experience!

During the week we will be guided by the yellow arrows that mark the route and we’ll walk approximately 120 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela. You will notice that the body will adjust to the pace of the day and the inevitable muscle pain of the first days will soon be forgotten. The mind will let go; the rhythm of the Camino is in charge instead of your schedule: you are about to become a pilgrim.

We will sleep in small pensions and hotels that I will book in advance. It might be a little less traditional than the Pilgrim Albergues where one sleeps with many people in a room and needs to rush to find a bed. Instead, it will offer you the luxury of knowing that your bed is reserved and the relaxedness of not having to hurry to find a bed.

I will personally guide you on this journey, to find the way and to let go and to reflect — you might even discover things about yourself you did not expect — and we will plan for your time after the Camino. You will face essential elements in developing your personal leadership.
