2017, a New Year. The first days of a year are often the days that many people have all kind of New Year’s resolutions and maybe even big plans for the year ahead. Making plans and setting goals is one thing, but how are you going to make sure you live up to them and achieve your goals?

Accomplishing a plan is like undertaking a journey. You will know your destination and probably have your roadmap for getting there. When I walked the Camino back in 2013, my goal was clear: to reach Santiago de Compostela in good health and with no injuries. I had a second goal connected to it: if time permitted, I wanted to walk on to Finisterre and Muxia. The action plan and roadmap to accomplish this were simple: walk every day and follow the yellow arrows until you arrive. And so, after 28 days and 900 kilometers of walking, I arrived in good health in Muxia and accomplished all my goals for the Camino.

It sounds simple, and obviously, there was more to it, but you’ll get the idea. A goal needs a plan connected to it, consisting of clear action steps. So, when developing your goals for 2017 (personal or business) do remember to connect your action plan to it as well. Make your actions concrete and define what you will do and when you will do it. That will help you to achieve the success you aspire for 2017!

My plans for 2017 include amongst others a return to the Camino, where you can join me! From 10 to 17 June, we will walk for a week on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. Registration has now opened and you can read all about the details here.

For earlier in the year the Alliance Masterclass is in my plan and I will continue with Executive Coaching and Alliance Mentoring. In addition, I will make myself available for a few clients in a full, unlimited, support model: to be their counselor for special projects or, for instance, to help turn stalling partnerships into success stories. Contact me if you are interested in being one of these few!

How about you, what are your plans for 2017? (and how will you get there?)
