Alliance Workshop in the Bestuurskamer of the Industrieele Groote ClubApril 5, 2016 Alliance Workshop in Amsterdam

Back in 2000, I learned the hard way how a partnership should not be created. A lot of the things I now know about creating alliances and partnerships, I did wrong back then. It was a though and costly lesson.

Looking back after all those years, I can now share that this experience taught me a lot. However, it did take a while for me to grow beyond the situation and accept my own lessons. The combination of time, a lot of new experiences in building alliances and learning about the theory, helped me to accept it.

There is an easier way to learn about alliances and partnerships than through the hard way I experienced. On the 5th of April you can learn it all and apply it to your own alliances in a special alliance workshop.

In this workshop we’ll work a mixture of theory, best practices, business scenarios and your own alliances. You will learn about the alliance life cycle framework and about tools that you can apply to create and optimize your alliances. I will share lessons and best practices and you will apply the learnings to your alliances where applicable. It will be a true “hands-on” workshop.

During the workshop we will largely be guided by the following program. Given the hands-on character there is a good chance that we, depending on the desires of the participants, will dive into parts more extensively than others.

9:30: Welcome and Introductions

– What are Alliances?
– Alliance specific strategy
– Partner analysis and selection
– Building trust & creating value

12:00: Lunch

– Operational planning
– Alliance structuring & Governance
– Launching & Management
– Transform, Innovate, Exit

16:30: Closing

This special workshop will be held on the 5th of April in the boardroom of the Industrieele Groote Club in Amsterdam. We will commence at 9:30 and end at 16:30 (unless off course you decide to stick around for some drinks, then it will be a bit later). To ensure that we can keep it highly interactive, the number of participants will be limited to 14 – with no direct competitors in the room.

The language of the workshop will be English.
